Ice Tea Perfection

Share

As we enter the dog days of summer, I find that I’m making ice tea more often.  Here is a recipe that just hits the spot right on.  The tea is never bitter and if you use Stevia or Splenda instead of white sugar, you’ve cut the calories and it becomes diabetic friendly.

1 pinch baking soda
2 cups boiling water
6 tea bags
1/2 cup sugar/Splenda/Stevia

Sprinkle a pinch of baking soda into a heat proof pitcher.  Pour in boiling water and add the tea bags.  Cover and allow to steep for 15 minutes.  Remove tea bags.  Stir in sugar until dissolved.  Pour in cool water and refrigerate until cold.
